The Krump scene in Melbourne and Australia has grown drastically over the past year and it’s about time an official competition be held.

There will be battles, call outs, and open sessions happening as well as buck krump clothing to be sold at the venue. Guest showcases have been confirmed from Pokedots and the Burncity Poppers.

There will be a awards for: NBK (New Buckest Krumper, male and female), MBK (Most Buckest Krumper, male and female), Tag team battles, and Family clashes (6 v 6). A secret Main Event is also on the schedule.

Hollabak is looking for fresh new talent to join the crew. Hollabak is a
hip hop dance crew who has performed at comps such as Groove and Shakedown
and corporate performances such as the Reach Foundation Breakfast at the
Hyatt, FreezaCentral at RMIT to name a few.

Raw Dance Company will be holding auditions for MALE dancers early next month.

Members of the company have performed locally, nationally and internationally at  New York, London, Switzerland, Germany, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taipei, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Las Vegas to name a few.

Raw Dance Company’s Project X International 2007/2008 engagements includes major touring dates throughout Asia (Singapore, India & China), Europe and UK (Holland, Edinburgh, Romania, Denmark, Finland, Norway & Sweden) .  Raw Dance Company’s National 2007 engagements include Individual Schools Tour (April-June 07) and the Urban Wonderland National Tour (July-September 07).

“Dancer” is a half-scripted half-reality television show based around the lives of professional dancers in Australia. It is currently in its casting phase, and Melbourne’s very own Nikki Ashby from the Movement Crew is one of the candidates to be in contention to be casted. She is also the only street dancer in consideration.

Nikki has been a strong supporter of hip hop in Australia and has done a lot for the scene over the last few years. It would be fantastic if she would make it past the casting phase to represent our side of the dance world on tv.
